Hello! I am the executive and clinical director of the Family Counseling Center. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia, and I have been practicing for 17 years. I am currently a SAMHSA Certified Trauma-Informed Care Trainer, Resilient Communities Trauma-Informed Care Trainer, and Moral Reconation Therapist. These certificates allow me to specialize in treatment of trauma as the root of mental illness and addiction. As a therapist, I believe in finding solutions to our problems and healing from past hurts that have impacted our beliefs and behaviors. I am authentic, open, and transparent and believe that everyone has the power to heal. I have experience treating an array of issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, addiction, grief, and marital/relationship issues. I strongly believe in the family system, and whenever I can, include family members in the therapeutic process. I approach mental illness and addiction treatment with a trauma lens, where I try to assist clients with understanding their roots and their why's. Once we understand why we are the way we are, we can begin the process of changing our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I believe that each of us hold the keys to our own healing and even lifelong symptoms can improve when we learn how to practice mindfulness, relaxation, regulation and releasing.
